PURPOSE OF ANNOUNCEMENT:
The Office of State Procurement Services, Bureau of General Services is seeking a motivated procurement professional to join our team! This position focuses on supporting our office, assisting vendors with their bid submissions, learning the Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes and offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in state procurement operations. The Procurement Analyst I will work under the direct supervision of the Procurement Planning Manager.
The Procurement Analyst I will assist with the state procurement process by handling entry-level tasks, such as acquiring low-dollar value goods and services while ensuring competitive pricing for our office. Responsibilities also include website maintenance, customer support for state agencies and vendors, and other routine procurement activities.

JOB DUTIES:
As a Procurement Analyst I in the Office of State Procurement Service, the successful candidate will:
This role involves regular interaction with team members, client agency staff, and external vendors. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong mathematical proficiency, and a keen eye for detail. Organizational excellence and advanced critical-thinking abilities are essential. The Office of State Procurement Services is a collaborative State agency support unit that experiences high-volume periods throughout the year. Additionally, the role includes providing support with various procurement-related tasks as needed.
The background of well-qualified candidates will demonstrate the following competencies:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
An Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or related field of study, and experience involving moderately complex procurement or related business processes demonstrating knowledge of large-scale procurement of business goods and services, category management, and market research. Directly related additional experience may be substituted for educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
