Vanguard Renewables is the premier anaerobic digester developer/owner/operator in the United States. Our closed-loop anaerobic digestion process converts organic waste and cow manure into green electricity or renewable natural gas as well as other related “value-added” products. Our head office is in Weston Massachusetts, and we are funded by institutional capital partners. We currently have over twenty projects in development operating in over thirteen States. We have a plan to continue to aggressively expand into other domestic markets.

As a result of our continued aggressive growth, we are adding a Procurement Associate to our Supply Chain team.

The Procurement Associate is an entry level opportunity that is responsible for assisting in the procurement process.

Reporting directly to the Procurement Manager, you will play a critical role in sourcing materials, researching potential vendors, and maintaining records of purchases, pricing, and other critical data.

 Responsibilities

• Assist in the procurement process, including sourcing potential vendors, comparing prices, and negotiating contracts.
• Maintain and update supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
• Support the Procurement Manager in market research to keep current with changing industry trends.
• Process purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure merchandise is high quality and delivered on time/schedule/within budget.
• Respond to supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations to ensure smooth process flow.
• Assist in the development of plans for storage, testing, or disposal of surplus materials.
• Consistent and on-time attendance
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in procurement or a related field.
• Familiarity with procurement software and tools, such as SAP Ariba, Oracle Procurement Cloud, or similar.
• Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers/vendors.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the renewable energy sector.
• Proficiency in data analysis and statistical methods.
