Job Overview
The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing purchasing and procurement operations across all Bigge locations, managing approximately $80MM in annual purchasing spend. This role reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager and manages 8 direct reports (Buyers and Expeditors) while partnering closely with Inventory, Service, and Operations teams to ensure timely, cost-effective sourcing of parts, materials, services, and equipment in support of shop and field operations.
Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and develop procurement staff including Buyers and Expeditors.
Oversee daily purchasing activities, requisition review, purchase order creation, and order expediting.
Partner with Inventory, Service, and Operations leadership to forecast demand,
develop sourcing strategies, reduce stock-outs, and minimize excess inventory.
Analyze purchasing data and drive cost-reduction initiatives.
Track and report procurement performance against defined metrics, including PO cycle time, cost savings %, and on-time delivery %.
Resolve vendor, quality, pricing, and delivery issues.
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships while negotiating pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
Establish supplier performance metrics and conduct regular reviews to improve service quality, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness
Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and procurement best practices.
Lead procurement process improvement efforts through training, technology, and automation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
5+ years of progressive purchasing or procurement experience.
Prior leadership or supervisory experience required.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with ERP systems (D365 preferred) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Process-oriented mindset with demonstrated ability to establish standardized procurement procedures, improve workflows, and maintain purchasing compliance.
Knowledge of construction and/or diesel-powered equipment preferred.
