Procurement Specialist

Position Summary:

This is a unique entry-level opportunity for an individual with a strong analytical mindset and interest in healthcare operations and finance. This individual will play a key role in ensuring that our medical facilities are spending wisely and in accordance with contractual agreements, focusing on pharmacy invoicing, DME utilization, and supply chain compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Pharmacy Oversight & Financial Review

• Audit pharmacy invoices daily/weekly against contracted per diem rates, daily minimums, and pricing tiers (IVs, injectables, TPN, etc.).
• Validate application of rebate or risk-share structures; identify excluded or non-rebatable items.
• Ensure non-formulary or excluded medications are      appropriately justified and approved before payment.
• Review therapeutic interchange documentation and      adherence to facility-level formularies.
• Maintain pharmacy invoice tracking logs and coordinate      with the finance team on quarterly rebate reconciliation and vendor      disputes.

Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Monitoring

• Track all active rentals across Ignite facilities and identify high-cost or long-duration rentals suitable for purchase.
• Coordinate pickup of rental equipment with facilities and facilitate the ordering of replacement/purchased equipment.
• Monitor utilization trends and report monthly findings to procurement and operations leadership.

Medical & Surgical Supply Oversight

• Review daily and weekly supply orders, with a focus on non-PPD (Per Patient Day) spend categories.
• Flag unnecessary or off-contract orders; redirect or cancel where appropriate.
• Assist in enforcing vendor compliance, price adherence,  and substitution practices.
• Collaborate with facilities to ensure ordering aligns with their budgets and approved formularies.

Reporting & Data Analysis

• Generate monthly dashboards reflecting pharmacy, DME, and supply spend performance.
• Identify and escalate spend anomalies, vendor issues, or clinical usage trends for further review.
• Work closely with procurement and finance to support budgeting, forecasting, and spend optimization initiatives.
