The Procurement Transplant Coordinator II (PTC II) supports the mission, goals and strategic plan of the OPO by evaluating potential organ donor referrals, medically managing organ donors, allocating donated organs, and coordinating all aspects of the organ recovery. The PTC II promotes the mission by assisting in the development and delivery of hospital and professional education, as necessary. The PTC II is expected to fulfill the responsibilities of the PTC I. Additionally, the PTC II contributes to interdepartmental training and education, including preceptorship, case study presentation, and learning event participation.
Essential Functions Statement(s)
Education: Associate’s, Bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing, respiratory therapy, paramedic medicine, related biological science (including human donation science), or medical school degree (including foreign degree programs) preferred.
Experience: Critical care nursing or organ donor management experience required.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) preferred. experience with electronic medical records (e.g., Cerner, Epic, Meditech) preferred.
Certificates & Licenses: Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) required; or CPTC within 18 months of employment with critical care nursing experience required.
Point of Care Testing: Individuals that meet state requirements to perform point of care testing it is preferred to get licensed and training from Nevada Donor Network Clinical Laboratory.
Other Requirements: Ability to fulfill on-call obligations; case work up to 24 consecutive hours.
