Produce Manager

Job Summary

Ray's is seeking a dedicated and experienced Produce Manager to oversee the daily operations of our produce department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, ensuring product quality, leading a team, and providing excellent customer service to maintain the highest standards in fresh produce.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the ordering, receiving, and stocking of fresh produce to maintain optimal inventory levels.


• Ensure all produce meets quality and freshness standards, minimizing waste and spoilage.


• Supervise, train, and motivate produce department staff to deliver exceptional customer service.


• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.


• Develop and implement merchandising strategies to maximize sales and enhance product presentation.


• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate pricing and resolve any supply issues.


• Monitor sales trends and adjust inventory and displays accordingly.


• Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to produce quality or availability.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in produce management or a related retail supervisory role preferred.


• Strong knowledge of fresh fruits, vegetables, and produce handling best practices.


• Excellent leadership and team management skills.


• Good organizational and communication abilities.


• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.


• Basic computer skills for inventory and ordering systems.
