Summary

In this role you will be responsible for the production and development of video content for all Pistons properties. Non-game night duties include all facets of video production for use in arena, on broadcast and online.  

As the Producer/Editor you will be an active member of the Pistons in-house video production team. This team is responsible for the production and execution of all Pistons programming including Detroit Pistons home games, digital/social content, TV & radio and Detroit Pistons auxiliary programming.

What you’ll be doing :  

• Produce, shoot and edit engaging content for distribution across digital, in-arena and social platforms 
• Collaborate with content, social and graphics teams to bring storytelling ideas to life  
• Conduct interviews that help build compelling storylines  
• Capture behind the scenes footage of games practices and team events. 
• Supporting cross-functional departments inclusive of community, partnerships, fan engagement, ticket sales and affiliate teams (i.e. MCC) 
• Take high impact photos at games and off court events.  
• Help support media asset management by tagging, sorting and archiving footage 
• Create content under tight deadlines while maintaining high quality visual consistency 
• Lead video shoots including multi-cam directing/producing  
• Other responsibilities as assigned  

What we’re looking for:  

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Broadcast Production, Communication, Film/Digital Media or related field  
• 3-5 years of related experience, preferably in sports or Entertainment 
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Especially Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Photo Mechanic and Lightroom  
• Strong Storytelling instincts and understanding of pacing, tone and emotional impact. 
• Experience shooting with Professional cinema cameras (canon C series, Sony FS) 
• Experience with live broadcast or video production company is a plus.  
• The ability to work under stringent deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic environment.  
• Familiarity with basketball culture, the NBA landscape and its fanbase 
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and travel as needed. 
• Ability to lift, carry and transport equipment weighing up to 50lbs
