Product Development Assistant, Activewear

Position Summary

The Product Development Assistant supports the day-to-day development of product across the Activewear Team. This entry-level role focuses on building foundational skills in sample tracking, costing, materials, vendor communication, and development documentation while working closely with Product Development, Design, Technical Design, and Production.

Key Responsibilities

• Support product development from design handoff through pre-production


• Maintain development trackers, sample logs, costing files, and product information


• Coordinate sample requests, fabric and trim submissions, and development packages with vendors


• Track proto, fit, salesman, and pre-production samples and flag delays


• Assist with fabric, trim, color, and component approvals


• Organize development samples, material libraries, and vendor references


• Support preliminary costing and maintain accurate cost information


• Communicate status updates to Design, Technical Design, Production, and Sales

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Product Development, Business, or related field preferred


• Strong Excel and organizational skills


• Excellent attention to detail and follow-through


• Basic understanding of garment construction, fabrics, trims, and product development


• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment


• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Job Logistics

Location: New York, NY – Midtown West

Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $45,000-$65,000.
