Position Description 

This position is responsible for developing and driving the strategic direction and product development for the SelectBlinds brand across multiple categories and suppliers. The Product Development Specialist will curate product collections based on data analysis and industry trends. This person will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure brand goals are achieved. 

Position Responsibilities 

• Research interior design publications, competitors’ websites, and other inspiration platforms to stay informed on emerging designs and product trends 

• Assist Product Development Manager in compiling product inspiration materials, such as pin boards and printed collateral 

• Visualize and communicate product design ideas aligned with SelectBlinds' quality and aesthetic standards 

• Coordinate and follow
  up on product approval documentation, including commitment letters and vendor approvals 

• Review and approve design attributes (e.g., colors, trims, materials), ensuring alignment with brand expectations 

• Liaise with domestic and international vendors through the product development cycle, including onboarding of new suppliers 

• Understand and factor global production lead times
  into product development and launch timeline to expedite time-to-market 

• Execute product setup and data entry for new and existing SKUs on the website, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all listings 

• Manage cross-functional project workflows for product launches, collaborating with Creative, Marketing, Site Operations and Samples to ensure successful and timely execution 

• Contribute to assortment strategy by evaluating product margins and recommending positioning based on good/better/best tiers 

• Maintain accurate product information in internal systems and support troubleshooting or updates as needed 

Ideal Skills & Experience 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Retail Merchandising, Supply Chain, or a related field 

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 

• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with leaders and members in all functional areas 

• Experience working with cross-functional teams and suppliers, and the ability to clearly communicate across a variety of time zones 

• Proven capabilities in executing strategy and problem-solving with a high level of accountability 

• Ability to react/adapt quickly to directional changes 

• Shopify platform familiarity is a plus
