Product Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated person to join the Engineering Department of a growing company that has been in business for 170 years.  You will be part of a team of problem solvers that provides technical support and knowledge for existing products as well as for new product designs and options.

Essential Job Functions

• 
  2D and 3D design including, but not limited to:
  
  
  
  • 
    fabrication drawings of window and door products for the purposes of machine tooling and process documentation
  
  
  • 
    design for 3D printing using in-house software and equipment
  
  
  • 
    product design of new products and options as well as enhancement of existing products
  
  
  • 
    creating drawings and models of production equipment, buildings and production flow layouts
  
  
  
  


• 
  Testing of products using both simulation and physical methods. Physical methods include an onsite test wall for air, water, and structural testing of windows and doors.  


• 
  Provide technical support to internal customers

Skills/Experience/Training Required

• 
  Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar education and/or experience in a related field


• 
  Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor or similar software is preferred


• 
  Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook


• 
  Manufacturing experience a plus


• 
  Experience using 3D printing equipment a plus


• 
  Experience designing for 3D printing a plus


• 
  CNC milling and G-code experience a plus


• 
  Thermal modeling experience a plus


• 
  Experience in the window and/or building industry a plus


• 
  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


• 
  Strong written and verbal communication skills


• 
  Ability to work both on an individual basis and as part of a team
