Job Description - Product Line Manager - North America Cable Management
Product line management role has responsibility to develop and execute strategic initiatives globally that support growth and profitability of Cable Management products as directed by the Global Product Line Manager. These initiatives will include product innovation, commercial programs (focused on agents, distribution, contractors) operational & sourcing improvements, improved services & tools, and cost savings initiatives through stage-gate projects. This role directly supports the sales team and manages pricing for the product lines. This position is designed as a key development role within our succession planning framework, serving as a feeder into senior leadership opportunities. In this role you will: Proactively gather competitive, end market information, and conduct market research to identify and define emerging new product and product adjacency opportunities. Identify and quantify new business opportunities through VOC (Voice of Customer) including new product development, commercial programs, service programs, product rationalization, value engineering, marketing programs, and other initiatives to support the overall Product Line Roadmap Recommend and execute pricing actions. Manage product mix and volume with Network Planning to meet overall product line profitability targets. Develop, maintain, and update product documentation and sales tools in partnership with the sales and marketing communications team - includes presentations, promotions, buying groups, sample kits, website and e-marketing, literature, video, cross references, and other marketing tools. Develop and conduct product training programs across the business and the customer base. Assist in long-range and short-range planning and forecasting (SIOP), including Profit Planning for the region Provide technical support and information to customers on a pre-sale and post-sale basis for product application, specification, quotation, and installation support. Support, analyze, and price non-standard product requests. Recommend and support vertical marketing, channel marketing, and customer loyalty initiatives. Actively participate in and drive cross-functional teams to execute initiatives. Proactively develop and grow relationships across the organization including global sales, marketing, engineering, and operations teams while conduct process improvement initiatives. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in sales or marketing. 5+ years industry experience at contractor, engineer, manufacturer, or distributor in communications & data end market 10+ years of experience in engineering, sales, and/or marketing MBA Experience working with globally dispersed teams. Proficient with Microsoft Office Aptitude and affinity for technical product details, including the ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals and drawings. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, think analytically, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to communicate clearly with team, conduct presentations, and be flexible and organized. Action-oriented and proactive approach Strategic thinker who can formulate and communicate business cases and gain advocacy.
