We are working with engineers and scientists across business units, and across functions, to develop the next generation products with a relentless focus on quality and reliability.\n\n * Apply engineering know-how in every day failure modes analyses to find the root cause for equipment failures during stress tests in the lab, or at customer sites.\n * Utilize engineering judgment as we develop the highest quality manufacturing processes and the most advanced and reliable production equipment for our worldwide customers.\n * Our leadership is needed every day as we are driving projects in collaboration with Development, Supply Chain, Pilot Manufacturing, Manufacturing, and Customer Engineering.\n\n\n\nJob Summary \nAs the Product Quality and Reliability Engineer, you will report to the Director of Quality and Reliability (Q\u0026R). You will lead multiple quality engineering projects in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. You will also work with development engineers to ensure the proliferation of Design For Reliability (DFR) methods into our stream of new product developments. You will complete the reliability analysis for new products and plan the reliability validation tests. \n \nMajor Responsibilities\n\n * Engaged in multiple key new product programs as quality and reliability owner\n * Proliferate characterization methodology using advance statistical analytics tools to address new product HW/Process variations\n * Drive DfQR for key programs to develop FMECA/technical risks, apply BKMs/lessons, learn to reduce risks, and validate solutions by developing and tracking CRAMS/ERAMS test plans.\n * Evaluates, from a reliability standpoint, the materials, properties, and techniques used in design and manufacturing by AMAT and AMAT\u0027s suppliers.\n * Engage suppliers and lead Part Qualification Process (PQP) at supplier sites identifying and addressing risks within the supplier\u0027s manufacturing process.\n * Monitor and improve supplier technical quality performance for defined KPCs by utilizing statistical quality methods like SPC, Gage R\u0026R, reliability statistics such as Wiebull etc.\n * Troubleshoot, analyze non-conformance and failure rate data using advanced business analytics to focus and prioritize the Q\u0026R projects and prepare management reports.\n * Drives 8D and FA projects towards a successful implementation of solutions.\n * Engage in Design reviews and Engineering Change Requests for their impact on Quality and Reliability (Q\u0026R).\n\n\n\nKey Competencies\n\n * Demonstrates depth and breadth of expertise in mechanical/systems engineering, mechanisms and components qualification, manufacturing and failure analysis, DFR, electro-mechanical components.\n * Technically astute and detail-oriented. High-energy, hands-on, self-confident leader with a broad knowledge of product development, manufacturing quality, and reliability methods.\n * Strong interpersonal skills, personal presence, style, and demeanor, to effectively influence and lead others to find and implement solutions to complex quality and reliability problems.\n * Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills.\n * Strong desire to learn and grow your career with the organization.\n * Able to travel to supplier sites in the USA and Asia.\n\n\n\nEducation and Experience \n\n * Bachelor\u0027s Degree in Chemical, Electrical, Materials or Mechanical Engineering -required\n * Preferred: Master\u0027s degree in Engineering, Statistics, Reliability, or a related field. Certified Quality or Reliability Engineer. Six Sigma certification (Black Belt, Green Belt).
