Job Description - Product Safety & QA Analyst

Associate Product Safety & Quality Assurance Analyst ContractorLocation: based in Austin, TX 78703, open to remote candidates in the continental USHours: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CSTPay: $28 - $30/hrDuration: 6-month Contract, likely to be extended with a slim possibility for a permanent offer based on performance and business needs

An industry leading grocer is seeking an Associate Product Safety & Quality Assurance Analyst Contractor to join their team. The Associate Product Safety and Quality Assurance (PSQA) Analyst will collaborate with the PSQA Team to support Quality and Product Safety testing development, documentation, execution, and review for Exclusive Brands (EB) product development.

Assist in the creation, review, and editing of testing specifications for products supplied by domestic and international vendors, for EB food, beverage, supplement, body care and/ or household products.Manage day to day communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders to include follow-up on project correspondence and monitoring of project activity timelines and due dates.Work within Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) system daily to update and/or evaluate product specifications for completeness and monitor for significant supplier specification changes.Proactively assist the Testing & Product Quality teams with prioritizing and completing project work according to established timelines.Provide technical assistance to suppliers as needed to ensure testing relevancy, specification accuracy, and overall project success.Evaluate and summarize test results, technical document specifications, and other supporting documentation (e.g., shelf-life validations, technical literature, etc.) to support product testing development, product launch approval, and product maintenance.Review product label art for adherence of claims and other product attributes to technical specifications.Review pre-production testing and first production testing results for compliance with Our specifications.Escalate out of specification results or significant supplier specification changes to a PSQA for review.Tracks and trends test results and non-conformances using spreadsheets, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), or Quality Management Systems (QMS) as determined by current process.Assist with Testing and Product Quality ad hoc tasks.Ensure products are consistent with Our core values, quality, and brand expectations.

Requirements and Qualifications:B.S. in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field.1 to 2 years of experience within retail, food manufacturing, or packaged goods industries.Ability to work effectively independently with minimal direct supervision, as well as within a cross functional team.Excellent and proactive communication, written and verbal.Excellent and detailed attention to technical data.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and deliver against rapid and changing timelines.Ability to use sound judgment and know when to seek subject matter expert guidance.Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)Product Lifecycle Management database experience preferred.Experience with specialty, natural, and organic foods a plus.
