Position Summary
The Product Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through customer engagement, product demonstrations, business development, and relationship management. This position serves as the primary sales lead and product subject matter expert for the company's product portfolio, supporting customer acquisition, market expansion, and sales execution efforts. The Product Sales Manager works closely with executive leadership to identify opportunities, strengthen customer relationships, and support the continued growth of the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Product Management & Strategy
- Develop and execute product strategies that align with company growth objectives and market opportunities.
- Serve as the primary product expert and guide product capabilities, applications, and competitive positioning.
- Collaborate with leadership, engineering, manufacturing, and operational teams to support product development, enhancement, and lifecycle management.
- Gather customer and market feedback to identify product improvement opportunities and future product requirements.
- Monitor industry trends, customer needs, and competitive offerings to support strategic decision-making.
- Support product launch activities, market introduction strategies, and ongoing product positioning initiatives.
Sales Leadership & Business Development
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue growth objectives.
- Identify, pursue, and develop new business opportunities across commercial, government, law enforcement, military, distributor, dealer, and institutional markets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, distributors, and key stakeholders.
- Conduct customer presentations, product demonstrations, trade show engagements, and industry outreach activities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop sales personnel and support staff as the organization grows.
- Establish sales goals, performance metrics, and accountability measures.
- Manage key customer accounts and serve as the senior escalation point for customer concerns.
Marketing & Market Development
- Support development and execution of marketing campaigns, branding initiatives, and customer engagement strategies.
- Collaborate with marketing resources to create sales materials, product collateral, presentations, and promotional content.
- Identify opportunities to expand market share and strengthen brand awareness.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, demonstrations, and customer meetings.
Customer & Operational Support
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are met, and orders are fulfilled accurately and efficiently.
- Support pricing strategies, proposal development, quotations, and customer communications.
- Assist in resolving customer issues and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and customer records utilizing CRM and business management systems.
Leadership & Reporting
- Provide regular sales forecasts, revenue projections, and business performance updates to executive leadership.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators related to sales growth, customer acquisition, and product performance.
- Participate in strategic planning and business growth initiatives.
- Recommend organizational, product, and process improvements that support continued growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Product Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be substituted.
- Seven (7) or more years of progressively responsible experience in sales, business development, product management, account management, or related leadership roles.
- Three (3) or more years of leadership or management experience.
- Demonstrated success in developing customer relationships and driving business growth.
- Strong presentation, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CRM platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the defense, military, law enforcement, firearms, suppressor, tactical equipment, outdoor products, manufacturing, or other regulated industries.
- Experience supporting product commercialization, product launches, or market expansion initiatives.
- Experience leading sales teams and developing commission-based sales programs.
- Knowledge of government procurement processes, contract vehicles, and public-sector sales environments.
- Experience working with distributors, dealers, channel partners, or reseller networks.
- Familiarity with applicable regulatory and compliance requirements associated with regulated products.
