Job Description - Product Specialist

Description

The Product Specialist with Air Hydro Power will communicate, promote, and support Mobile Robotic product solutions (Universal Robots and MiR), capabilities, and services to AHP employees and customers. 

  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Meet the assigned product line sales goals.
  • Direct and participate in the profitable sales growth of the assigned product lines.
  • Product and application resources for assigned product lines.
  • Cross train on our other product lines that would be complimentary to deploying an UR/MIR solution (End-of-Arm solutions, accessories, etc.)
  • Assist management with reporting and identifying large projects in our sales funnels and coordinating with UR/MIR
  • Direct and participate in development of new business opportunities.
  • Develop annual forecast for assigned Product Line Group.
  • Monitor pricing and margins of product line and make recommendations to assure growth and profitability goals are achieved.
  • Distribute information from manufacturer.
  • Manufacturer’s liaison.
  • Coordinate training (both factory and internal) of AHP Sales Teams.

Activities:

  • Works with Sales Manager, Engineering, Automation Team Leader, and Account Managers to develop target accounts.
  • Proactively works in the field with Account Managers to identify sales opportunities.
  • Call on accounts without Account Managers as needed to grow sales.
  • Extensive time in the field doing demonstrations and proof of concepts. Make a minimum of 6-8 Sales Calls per week with product demonstrations.
  • Helps Account Managers develop strategy to win business (Funnel Management).
  • Conduct and provide assistance to Account Managers on product demonstrations.
  • Provides Technical support to Account Managers.
  • Coordinates the visits of our Manufacturing Partner Representatives.
  • Overnight travel infrequent, but possible. Travel to National Sales events and training will be required.
  • Control costs of this position: not only with personal expenses but also demo equipment and accessories.

Requirements

Special Skills and Capabilities:

  • Self-starter, driven individual.
  • Strong analytical and technical abilities.
  • The ability to listen carefully, visualize processes, and articulate technical responses after eliciting relevant and complete engineering details.
  • Public speaking ability needed to participate in sales presentations, demonstrate products and provide customer and team training while projecting a high level of technical competence.
  • Electrical and mechanical aptitude to develop systems that can accommodate and integrate with customers’ existing equipment and AHP’s product lines while achieving customer expectations.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong team concept necessary to work closely with inside and outside sales and product vendors.

Education and Experience:

  • A High School diploma or GED is required.
  • A Bachelors or Associates Degree in an Engineering related field is preferred.
  • 1+ years of industry experience with automation systems including PLC/Ladder Logic, Motion Control (servos, steppers,  VFD's) and other control products.
  • Vision and/or Robotic Product knowledge/experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.
