Production Associate - 2nd Shift

Position Information

Position Title: Production Associate (2nd Shift)
Reports To: Production Manager
Department: Meter/Production

Position Summary

The Flex Production Associate primary responsibility is metering daily mail. This role includes:

• Metering

• Assisting the Sorter 

• Bindery (i.e. folding, etc.)

• Perform other Production duties or requests assigned by Management

Core Responsibilities

• Meter mail
  • Daily mail
  • Other 1st Class mail -including Hot mail 
  • Work Order components

• Assist the Sorter/sweeping mail

o While sweeping mail, maintain and verify the quality of the mail pieces including the barcode and applied location by the Sorter

• Tag, Sleeve, palletize trays, restock, and clean work area during down time

• Assist the Sorter team during the close out process 

• Assist in helping keep necessary materials stocked and readily available

• Assist with other Production needs

Time Allocation

• 50% – Daily Operations (Metering)
• 30% – Assisting the Sorter team
• 20% – Assisting with other Production needs or tasks assigned by Management

Qualifications/Skills

Required:

• Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Must be able to report to work on time and able to work the scheduled/assigned work hours

Preferred:

· Previous experience in the mailing industry

· Forklift and/or Scissor lift certified (or willing to become certified)

· Self-reliance with the capability of working independently or in a team setting

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Logical approach to problem solving 

• Able to receive instructions or directives

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit/stand and perform hands-on operational tasks as needed
• Required to occasionally move and/or lift 50 pounds or more

Working Conditions

• Schedule: 2:00 PM – 10:30PM (Flexibility required)
• Work Environment:  Moderate noise level
• Physical Environment:  Generally favorable working conditions

  This is an hourly pay rate position
