Production Associate - 3rd shift

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for receiving raw product, supplying raw product to the processing area, production (Fresh Cut Fresh pack and Dehy) and for packaging and warehousing of the finish product in a timely efficient safe manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Effectively operate forklift, and be able to lift 50# bags of product.


2. Must adhere to Company rules and follow the GMP signs and maintain good personal hygiene.


3. Must adhere to all Food Safety and SQF rules and regulations.


4. Must learn to operate all packaging equipment and successfully assure all finished product is meeting product specifications.


5. Must be willing to learn and complete all job specific paperwork on a daily basis.


6. Must be able to communicate with and assist all fellow employees dealing with production and maintenance problems.


7. Work in a team environment and communicate well with fellow employees


8. Maintain open communication between Production Manager, Shift Supervisor, Lead Operator and Lab


9. Able and willing to perform tasks at all levels (from sweeping floors to operating the production equipment).


10. Willingness to assist with work assignments in other production areas on a daily basis. These assignments will be filling in for fellow employees during breaks, lunches, production, and maintenance times.


11. Assist in all aspects of clean up at the end of each production run.


12. To do your part to insure the production of an excellent grade of food product in a safe environment.


13. May require working on a Saturday and/or Sunday to accommodate customer needs.


14. Learn and work in a team environment and communicate well with fellow employees.

Department duties:

Fresh Cut

1. Clean and set up processing line.


2. Bag, stack and pick orders


3. Peel and pick out off grade product.


4. Operate forklift.


5. Hand peel whole potatoes.


6. Complete any job specific paper work such as noting start and end times of pallets.


7. Check product temperature, metal detector and bag weights as needed.

Dehy

1. Clean and set up processing line.


2. Operate forklift.


3. Scrape bad product off drum and other duties to ensure we are making good product.


4. Bag and stack finished product.


5. Complete all job specific paper work.


6. Sweep and clean up during shift.


7. Run re-blend in designated area.

Fresh Pack

1. Operate forklift.


2. Pick out off grade product.


3. Assemble empty bins to pack product.


4. Pack bins of 3# , 5# , 8# and 10# bags.


5. Check weigh any rejected product and adjust as needed to ensure correct weight.


6. Monitor Volm Baler make sure product is sewn and filled properly.


7. Clean up any potatoes on the floor and put in designated collection bins.


8. Clean off all equipment and floors, as needed, throughout the day and at the end of shift

Required Skills:

1. General machine operating experience.


2. Computer literate.
