Position Summary
The Production Clerk plays a critical role in supporting daily manufacturing operations by ensuring production data is accurately recorded, analyzed, and communicated — while also serving as a key resource for training and knowledge transfer across the operations team. In addition to maintaining accurate records of ingredient usage, production output, and workforce attendance, this position is responsible for coordinating, conducting, and documenting training for both new hires and existing team members.
Working closely with production leadership and cross-functional partners, the Production Clerk develops and delivers onboarding sessions, supports job-specific skill training, and ensures employees have the tools and information needed to succeed in their roles. This role also helps maintain training records, track completion metrics, and identify opportunities for ongoing development, contributing directly to a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Workforce Development
• Serve as a primary training resource for the Operations team, delivering both initial onboarding and ongoing development for production employees.
• Conduct training sessions on production documentation, batch reporting, safety procedures, and standard operating processes.
• Develop, update, and maintain training materials, manuals, checklists, and visual aids to support a variety of learning styles.
• Coordinate onboarding schedules for new hires, ensuring they receive the proper instruction, documentation, and mentorship during their first 60 days.
• Track and document all training activities, maintain up-to-date training records, and ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
• Partner with leadership to identify skill gaps and design targeted refresher training, cross-training, or upskilling sessions.
• Lead periodic refresher trainings and workshops to reinforce company policies, food safety requirements, and best practices.
• Support a culture of continuous learning by encouraging feedback, sharing process updates, and facilitating communication between departments.
Production Data & Documentation
• Record and verify batch, blend, and line production data to ensure accuracy and compliance. Coordinating with the ERP Team
• Enter production data into relevant systems (ERP, MES, or spreadsheets) and update daily/weekly performance dashboards.
• Calculate and log daily production totals, yield, downtime, scrap, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Review, audit, and maintain production records for completeness and accuracy, ensuring readiness for internal and external audits.
Reporting & Analysis
• Generate, distribute, and archive production reports, KPI summaries, and ingredient usage logs.
• Support operations leadership by preparing data-driven reports for shift handovers, daily meetings, and monthly reviews.
• Track and communicate trends in production performance and highlight potential variances for follow-up.
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
• Participate in production meetings and contribute to discussions on workflow efficiency, process improvements, and waste reduction.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, Maintenance, Scheduling, HR) to ensure smooth operations, accurate data flow, and alignment of training needs.
• Actively support initiatives focused on safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications:
• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in business, operations, or related field preferred.
Experience:
• Minimum of 1 year in a production, manufacturing, or administrative support role.
• Experience with data entry, reporting, or ERP systems is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and data-entry systems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to support multiple teams and functions.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
• Work may involve exposure to moderate environmental elements such as dust, temperature changes, humidity, or noise.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs and perform tasks involving bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods.

$18.95 - $29.84
