Job Summary:
Working with minimal supervision, this individual will be responsible for the support and improvement of manufacturing processes at MPP. Will work directly with operations and manufacturing engineers, providing operational support and both technical and project leadership to internal teams. Responsible for supporting all casting process control aspects of the manufacturing production environment, including floor support, administrative assistance, and quality control.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reads & interprets blueprints, schematics, drawings, CAD models, manufacturing, inspection, and other technical specifications and applies them within manufacturing and quality processes.
- Assesses tooling design, equipment capabilities, and manufacturing processes to continuously identify better ways to process product.
- Responsible for daily process monitoring and review of all casting processes, escalation and resolution of any out of target conditions on a daily basis, identifying needs for and implementing process improvements.
- At-point problem solving for processes and products, makes decisions on proper actions to be taken for correction. Executes solutions in an effective and timely manner.
- Operates processes and equipment within manufacturing cells as needed and provides technical oversight to operations techs, cell leads, and operators.
- Participate in, prepare, or provide input to First Article Inspection (FAI), Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), Quality Event Management (QEM) reviews and reports.
- Interacts with various internal teams on technical and program matters.
- Makes recommendations for design for manufacturability, cost, or process improvements or expanded capabilities on new or existing products and processes.
- Escalates, involves, or provides feedback to manufacturing engineers on product specific defects, losses, or manufacturability issues for coordinated resolution.
- Learning and applying MPP lean principles, working with cross-functional teams to standardize, simplify, and error-proof production processes.
- Support of special projects; manages personal timetables and project status for projects to assure milestones and completion dates are achieved.
- Assists in planning and coordination within the associated manufacturing areas.
- Supports process reviews, process & workstation audits, revisions, and training on necessary changes within areas of responsibility.

Work Environment:
- Shared office environment for administrative work.
- Frequent access to manufacturing environment is required to perform duties adequately.
- May be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, airborne particles, smoke (Not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels).
- Safety training and equipment are provided by MPP in accordance with applicable law, industry standards and company policy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an accredited university or equivalent technical training and relevant experience.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Access, Power Point, etc.).
- Technical communication skills
- Ability to read/write/speak English
