Job Description - Production Lead

Position Summary:


The Production Lead is responsible for supervising day-to-day production floor activities to ensure the accurate, efficient, and timely assembly of MSD-V4 systems and related components. This position provides direct leadership to Kitting Technicians and support personnel, coordinates with Quality Assurance and Warehouse Operations, and ensures compliance with all contractual requirements, safety standards, and internal processes. The Production Lead plays a critical role in meeting customer delivery schedules, maintaining production flow, managing on-hand component inventory, bonded storage, and driving continuous improvement in support of program objectives.


 


Description:



  • Production, Storage, Warehousing, and Inventory Control: Responsible for producing, inspecting, packing, packaging, storing, and controlling the inventory of equipment for all related programs, including variants, derivatives and replacements for all programs within.

  • Utilize the appropriate systems for all GFM/GFE to enable the Government to properly account for, inventory manage, transfer these items when necessary and support special inventories.

  • Maintain and secure the warehouse and its inventory.

  • Supervise daily production operations, assign tasks, and monitor progress of Kitting Technicians.

  • Maintain a steady-state production line that meets required quantities and delivery timelines.

  • Conduct routine quality checks and troubleshoot production issues.

  • Ensure kits are assembled, inspected, packaged, and staged in accordance with work orders and program requirements.

  • Serve as the first escalation point for production issues and coordinate resolutions with Program Management, QA, and Warehouse teams.

  • Coordinate with Kitting Personnel to ensure bins, storage areas, and staging locations are properly stocked and secured.

  • Maintain accurate production records, lot tracking, and material usage documentation.

  • Support Government-Furnished Material/Equipment (GFM/GFE) accountability and inventories.

  • Provide monthly status reports on production and inventory to the Program Manager.

  • Enforce adherence to SOPs, safety standards, quality standards, and AS9100 requirements.

  • Maintain physical and digital documentation in support of production delivery orders and audits that meet contract retention timelines.

  • Support annual and special inventories as required.

  • Train and mentor new personnel on SOPs, safety, quality standards, and production processes.

  • Provide general administrative oversight, time accounting, financial tracking, cost projection, inventory management, personnel support.

  • Maintain and ensure compliance within contractual Labor Category requirements, and all aspects of the QMS.

  • Provide input on performance evaluations, daily tasking, and timecards for assigned staff.

  • Promote best practices, continuous improvement, and cross-training across the production floor.

  • Report production metrics and issues to the Program Manager.

  • Support schedule development (weekly, monthly, quarterly) in coordination with Program Management.

  • Provide input to budget, resource, and tooling needs to maintain production efficiency.

  • Ability to lift ~ 50 pounds.

  • Certified to operate a forklift.

  • Adhere to the company’s AS9100 policies, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Will perform other duties as assigned.






           


          Education/Skills:



          • HS Diploma or GED and 7 years of relevant experience or HS Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience.

          • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.

          • Priority military experience is highly preferred (i.e. MOS 92A, 92Y, supply and logistics experience).

          • Knowledge of MS Office Suite, MS365 and ability to create and update reports for management.
