Production Lead (Cannabis)
As a Production Lead at Baked Bros, you are responsible for driving daily production efficiency, product quality, and team accountability. Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you supervise a production team, ensuring operations are executed accurately, safely, and on schedule. You serve as a hands-on leader, spending at least 80% of your time on the production floor, coaching your team, solving issues in real time, and communicating performance metrics. This role is both tactical and developmental, supported by a structured training plan that builds your skills in operations, leadership, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities Production Oversight
Supervise day-to-day production to ensure all quality checks are completed before products move to packaging.
Prevent cooking and dosing errors through process oversight and adherence to SOPs.
Ensure hourly and daily production goals are consistently met.
Monitor production documentation (e.g., batch tracking, AI dosing) for accuracy and compliance.
Enforce sanitation, safety, and compliance standards during all production phases.
Floor Leadership
Maintain a physical presence on the production floor 80% of the time to monitor performance, coach staff, and respond to issues in real time.
Lead by example with a focus on accountability, attention to detail, and operational discipline.
Train and mentor new team members on equipment, techniques, and compliance protocols.
Monitor attendance and report staffing issues or needs to the Production Manager.
Communication & Reporting
Complete and submit daily End-of-Day (EOD) production reports, including metrics, training progress, and issue logs.
Coordinate cross-functionally with the Inventory and Packaging Leads to ensure smooth workflows and label compliance.
Proactively identify and resolve production issues independently; escalate significant challenges with proposed solutions.
Team Development
Coach team members on SOPs, safety, equipment use, and quality standards.
Use the Lominger competency framework to guide training, performance feedback, and ongoing education.
Provide feedback and conduct informal performance assessments to support team growth and skill development.
Equipment & Process Management
Verify proper equipment setup and function prior to and during production.
Coordinate maintenance, troubleshooting, and purchase requests with Facilities as needed.
Support ongoing process improvements to enhance output, reduce waste, and improve quality.
