PRODUCTION LEAD - Weekend Shift

Schedule:  Friday through Sunday, 6:00am to 6:30pm

Job Summary: The Production Lead is responsible for assisting with plant supervision in ongoing job/program management to ensure goals and requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Issues work assignments as directed by Production Supervisor, or management.
2. Assists in areas of employee training, monitoring compliance with safety and other policies, and job setup as well as evaluating effective methods of production and implementing direction given by Management.
3. Assumes a leadership role for all programs/jobs under your direction to ensure safety, efficiency and product integrity.
4. Utilizes company computer systems to perform research, time approvals, and maintain communication and documentation.
5. Understands and enforces company policies and procedures governing safety standards and work rules for all employees.
6. Ensures work areas are clean, orderly, and maintained consistent with company Housekeeping policy.
7. Monitors work flow to ensure programs are completed on time and down-time is minimized.
8. Runs production jobs/programs as required per business necessity and to fill in when production staff is limited.
9. Identifies inefficiencies in areas of responsibility and works to eliminate using time management skills.
10. Responsible for some hazardous waste management functions. Performs physical waste activities such as labeling and ensuring waste is handled properly under their area of responsibility.
11. Performs other work related tasks as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States (ITAR restrictions).
2. Must be 18 years of age or older to work at this facility.
3. Must be eligible to possess explosives under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for all employees of Tech Ord.
4. High School diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
5. At least 2 years of related assembly experience is preferred.
6. Previous experience in a lead or supervisory capacity is preferred.
7. Must have ability to lead in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn and become proficient in our internal computer systems and applications.
9. General knowledge of manufacturing processes and implementation of procedures.
10. Ability to communicate and document effectively in English.
11. Function Specific RCRA Training upon hire.
12. Ability to provide work direction to and work effectively with other employees as part of a team.
13. Ability to multi-task and set and establish priorities in support of end-result/goal.
14. Excellent organizational skills.

1. Ability to talk and hear in order to communicate with others.
2. Seated work for up to 30% of the workday.
3. Frequently required to stand and/or walk both indoors and outdoors.
4. Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel as well as reach with hands and arms.
5. Lifting of 10 pounds is required. Must be able to move materials by lifting, pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds and may seek assistance.
6. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus when viewing a computer monitor.
7. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and explosives.
8. Ear protection is required as identified throughout the facility.
9. Where required employees must wear a minimum of 50 percent cotton clothing including undergarments to mitigate electrostatic discharge (ESD). Employees must also wear company issued safety footwear.
