Job Description - Production Manager

Description

This position is responsible for Managing, Planning, directing, or coordinating the work activities and resources

necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with safety, cost, quality, productivity, and quantity

specifications.

· Direct and coordinate production and processing of production team.

· Develop budgets and approve expenditures for supplies, materials, and human resources, ensuring that materials, labor and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.

· Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.

· Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.

· Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personnel grievances.

· Initiate and coordinate KAIZEN and cost control programs.

· Prepare and maintain production reports and Production Team records as required.

· Set and monitor product standards and take timely and appropriate action when corrective actions are needed.

· Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports, to detect production problems.

· Participates in ISO 14001 Annual Audit Activities

· Ensures that Facility is in Compliance with Federal, State, and Local Environmental Requirements

· Other Job Duties as assigned

· Manage and lead both the Production and Project Planning Group, including training, development, performance reviews, disciplinary issues and daily supervision to maximize efficient productivity.

· Set departmental objectives/KPIs and review assess ongoing performance of direct reports.

· Communicate KPIs from the strategic annual plan so that each team member is aware.

· Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure safety and the wellbeing of staff, visitors, and vendors.

Must have proficient oral and written communication skills.

· Must have knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.

· Must be willing to cross-train and make continuous improvements.

· Must be willing to take the initiative on new projects.

· Must be able to work company’s required overtime.

· Must comply with FIA’s Attendance Policy.

· Attention to Detail, Office Equipment Usage, Computer Usage, Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Multi-Tasking, Problem Solving, Team Participation, Motivation to Learn New Skills

Requirements

· Work Environment: Work is typically performed in both an office and production environment

· Must be able to use a variety of tools and equipment such as computer terminal for data input, copy machines, calculator and any other equipment related to functional area.

· Must be able to use software includes the use of Windows Operating System, MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access database, etc.), and Internet

· Noise Levels: Moderate Noise

The physical tasks described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

· Lifting up to 10 pounds – must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

· Physical Sight – Able to read and analyze data in hard copy and on a computer screen.

· Verbal & Written Communications – Able to efficiently present complex matters to audience with little technical knowledge and to executive management.

· Telephone Communications – Able to communicate verbally using a telephone.

· Multitasking – Able to manage multiple work projects simultaneously.

· Occasionally travels by automotive and or plane
