Job Description - Production Manager

The Production Manager unleashes the Church to make an eternal difference in the lives of at-risk people through teams of volunteers implementing technology & media in our Worship Gatherings, as well as providing oversight & support for technical needs at events as needed. This person will work in a team-based staff environment to create ministry, collaborating on projects and planning to further the vision of the Creative Arts Team. The Production Manager will also be responsible for managing Worship Gathering space tech & setting the culture & vision for what “production ministry” looks like at Sherwood Oaks.

AS THE PRODUCTION MANAGER, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING:



  • Oversee the Production Team at Weekend Worship Gatherings, leading through volunteers to create transformational spaces.

  • Maintain all Worship Gathering Space technology & media, including planning for replacement, repairs, managing inventory, keeping spaces clean and organized. Primary oversight is the Worship Center but will also provide support for the tech in the Chapel, Fellowship Hall, and Gym.

  • Handle administrative responsibilities for the Production Team alongside the Worship Arts Coordinator, including team scheduling, Planning Center updates, managing the Volunteer Pathways & policies.

  • Communicate vision & decisions clearly to all volunteers.

  • Work with the Creative Arts Team to set the vision for how audio, video, and lighting elements will be used in Gatherings in an impactful and intentional way.

  • Develop staff & volunteer leaders to execute the Production Ministry vision & tasks.

  • Oversee other Bloomington Production Staff, holding monthly 1-on-1’s, yearly evaluations, developing skills & leadership. (currently 1 part-time Production Associate)

  • Provide support for Bedford Campus Production as needed, assisting with projects, managing central subscriptions, and assisting with training.



RELEVANT TECHNICAL SKILLS:


 



  • Knowledge of (or ability to learn) Church & Worship Management tools (Planning Center, MultiTracks, ProPresenter, etc.).

  • Knowledge of (or ability to learn) music production software (DAWs such as Logic Pro, Mainstage).

  • Understanding of sound systems, signal flow, FOH mixing, post-production, Dante networking, etc. 

  • Understanding of video systems, camera settings, live video directing, framing, etc. 

  • Understanding of lighting systems, DMX protocol, JANDS Vista software, programming practices, etc. 

  • Skills in relevant “Post-Production” work for audio & video needs, as some projects require editing and creating for special elements or digital presence.

  • Approve PTO, credit card statements, and check requests.


 


MANAGE BUDGET RESPONSIBLY



  • Steward the Production Ministry annual budget that prioritizes and advances the Sherwood Oaks mission and vision.

  • Fully engage in direct reports with your supervisor.

  • Effectively lead and engage in appropriate staff and volunteer meetings.
