JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for an area of production, the employees assigned to that area, and meeting area production goals
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Manages all operations within assigned area
- Mentors and trains Production Supervisors and Senior Production Supervisors in line with company succession planning goals
- Ensures all goals and targets are communicated clearly to supervisors
- Provides plans and guidance as necessary to ensure production targets are achieved
- Reports to senior leadership on status towards targets and any roadblocks
- Creates and manages staffing models for programs in assigned area
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
- Directly manages Production Supervisors in assigned area
- Interviews applicants
- Trains employees
- Plans, assigns, and directs work
- Appraises performance
- Rewards and disciplines employees
- Addresses complaints and resolves problems
Requirements
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Two year technical or Associate’s degree preferred
EXPERIENCE
- Seven years of experience in a leadership role with increasing level of responsibility
- Five years of experience in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to understand technical data such as TDPs
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to lead a team by example
- Demonstrable high level of integrity
- Ability to prioritize time and tasks in a fast paced, ever changing environment
- Proficient with MS Office
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to pass physical examination for use of respirators and Pyro suit
- Eligible to possess explosives under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF)
- Willing to work in an environment that requires a “Safety First” attitude. Must obey all Safety, Health & Environmental rules/regulations prescribed by regulatory agencies that are incorporated into company policy
- Ability read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to handle energetic and non-energetic material
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
