Production Manager – Cabinetry Manufacturing


Position Overview


Our client is a growing manufacturer of premium, high-quality cabinetry serving residential and commercial construction markets. They are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead daily operations across the production and assembly floor while driving safety, quality, efficiency, and team performance.


This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing leader who is equally comfortable leading people, operating CNC equipment, improving production processes, and partnering with engineering on product specifications. The ideal candidate is passionate about operational excellence and enjoys building scalable manufacturing systems in a growing organization.

What You'll Do



  • Lead, coach, and develop production and assembly teams to consistently achieve production goals.

  • Coordinate daily production schedules, staffing, and workflow to meet customer delivery commitments.

  • Operate, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC machinery, including tooling, setup, and production efficiency.

  • Evaluate, improve, and scale manufacturing processes, layouts, and workflows to support continued business growth.

  • Read and interpret engineering and shop drawings while collaborating with engineering and design teams to improve product specifications and manufacturability.

  • Monitor product quality throughout production and ensure finished products meet company standards and customer expectations.

  • Foster a culture of workplace safety by promoting and enforcing best practices.

  • Provide hands-on support with cabinet assembly, custom modifications, and production activities when needed.

  • Partner closely with production, finishing, quality, and engineering teams to resolve issues and improve operations.

  • Analyze production performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency and throughput.


What We're Looking For



  • Strong understanding of cabinetry manufacturing and woodworking processes.

  • Hands-on experience operating CNC equipment, with setup, tooling, and programming experience strongly preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings, and manufacturing specifications.

  • Proven success improving, retooling, and scaling production lines in a manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing production teams in a fast-paced operation.

  • Experience with production scheduling, workflow management, and Lean or continuous improvement principles.

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.

  • Ability to prioritize competing production demands while maintaining high standards.


Qualifications



  • High school diploma or GED required; technical, vocational, trade school, or engineering-related education preferred.

  • Five or more years of manufacturing or production management experience.

  • Cabinetry, woodworking, or related manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

  • Hands-on CNC operating experience required; setup and programming experience preferred.

  • Previous supervisory or production leadership experience required.

  • Experience interpreting engineering and design drawings.

  • Lean manufacturing, process improvement, or production scaling experience preferred.


Physical Requirements



  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.

  • Frequently perform repetitive hand and arm movements.

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Manual dexterity required for assembling detailed cabinetry components.
