Join us as our new Production Operator

Our Production Operators at Novonesis are skilled workers who are tasked with setting up, monitoring, and maintaining equipment and processes in our industrial biotechnology factory.  Our industrial biotechnology factory uses microbes (living organisms found in nature) to produce BioSolutions which are enzymes (produced by fermenting & feeding microbes) and proteins used as food ingredients.   BioSolutions are used in the production of a variety of products in industries such as food, household care, animal nutrition, biofuels and more.  The role of the Production Operator is key to ensure safety, quality and compliance of the production process. 

In this role you’ll make an impact by:

• Operating plant process control computers
• Preparing raw materials
• Troubleshooting equipment
• Making minor repairs or replacing parts
• Testing materials for quality and compliance

To succeed you must hold:

• HS diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Proficient computer literacy
• Physical abilities:
  • Move freely around in the factory and outdoor surroundings, including the ability to push, pull, kneel, and squat
  • Lift up to 60 pounds unassisted
  • Manually manipulate and use equipment and tools, i.e. turn valves & align hoses
  • Use PPE such as but not limited to uniform, hard hat, eye protection, ear protection, hair net, beard net, & respirator
  • Climb stairs and work at heights (ladders, platforms, & tanks)
  • Enter & work in a confined space

Schedule:

• 12-hour shifts alternating between days & nights every 2 weeks (6:30-7:00 am/pm)
• 2-2-3 rotation
  • Week 1: Work Monday and Tuesday, off Wednesday and Thursday, work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • Week 2: Off Monday and Tuesday, work Wednesday and Thursday, off Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.   

Expected starting salary:

• Hourly Pay Breakdown:
  • $25.05 base rate
  • +$3/hr night shift differential
  • +1.5X Sunday pay rate
• Overtime is frequently available
• Certification program available (Five modules, each valued at +3% base rate)
