Job Description - Production Planner - EPI/Device

Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesWorks closely with Division Production Planner to ensure production schedules are met across all epi manufacturing sitesOperations are monitored to assure that process and product quality are maintained, that yields and efficiencies are maximized, that scrap and waste are minimized and that safe practices are employed.Production activities are managed to assure that productivity is high and that lead-times and backlogs are maintained at acceptable level.Manages product flow to fulfill customer orders and business needs.Inventories are monitored and maintained at appropriate levelA "focus on the customer" mentality is maintained.Corrective actions are maintained and appropriately acted on.Capacity and Capability of equipment and labor is understood and documented for New Products and processes.Schedules production to include R&D and Process Improvement activities.Monitor WIP and Finished Goods InventoryResearch and define reasons for excess inventoryFlag items with reasons communicate and support solutionsAttend daily, weekly meetings with appropriate personnelProblems are expedited and issues are communicated as requiredUse Process Value Chain methods for process improvementsMaintains a positive attitude and is cooperative in working with othersAdapts readily to changes in work caused by new requirements and/or situations.The Coherent Employee Success and Growth Process is executed effectively and an ESGP is co-developed and in place with each employee.SMART goals are established and achievedResponsible for maintaining Quality Work EnvironmentRole model for Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Employee Satisfaction and Business Results.Education & Experience

Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Operations Management, or direct work related experience2-4 years in manufacturing (high technology manufacturing preferred)Experience in performing time studies (both labor and equipment)Preferable trained in lean manufacturing techniquesExperience with problem analysis and resolutionDemonstrated ability to achieve results independently or working with othersAbility to recommend and implement improvementsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsExperience with networked PC based computer system (MS Office, spreadsheets, access, graphics, Email, MRP systems, and accounting software)Must have experience using SAP or equivalent ERP systemsSkills & Other Requirements

Capable of developing and implementing long-range capacity and capability plansAbility to handle multiple priorities involving external and internal prioritiesAbility to excel in a cross-organizational, cross cultural, global team environmentHandle special assignments promptly and professionallySet a high standard of ethics, professionalism, leadership, and competencyDue to ITAR compliance, this position requires candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)

Office Environment, some Warehouse work

Physical Requirements

Able to lift at least 20 lbs.

Safety Responsibilities

All employees are required to attend scheduled training, follow the site EHS procedures and II-VI Corporate EHS standards. This includes the use of proper protective equipment (PPE) as required by the job responsibilities.

Managers will ensure that all safety and environmental procedures are followed consistently. They will ensure that risk assessments are performed, proper training, work instructions, required PPE is available, and will monitor compliance. .

Quality and Environmental Responsibilities

Depending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
