Job Summary


Supports the development of production schedules by planning, preparing, and managing segments of the overall build plan and material requirements. Ensures a consistent and controlled flow of materials to meet production targets and customer demands. Performs configuration control within the ERP system, including maintenance of costing, bills of materials, routing, item master data, and production planning/scheduling.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:



  • Creates and maintains multiple work center and plant daily master production schedules which balance the workload to maximize operation efficiency, and production output to meet deadlines.

  • Reviews and runs Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP)/Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) system daily, converting planned orders into process orders and purchase requisitions.

  • Gathers and reviews data from manufacturing and support organizations, coordinates with capacity and material analysis to resolve material and capacity discrepancies that affect the schedule.

  • Translates anticipated demand into production and purchase orders for internal and external suppliers.

  • Evaluates internal manufacturing constraints and develops proposals and plans to maintain level, efficient production.

  • Investigates production variations through data collection to develop root cause analysis and recovery plans.

  • Works closely with the Demand Group, Customer Service Department, Purchasing Department, Production Department, Quality Assurance, and Shipping Department to ensure products are produced and shipped per schedule.

  • Provides planning support to Design, Product Launch, Marketing, and Merchandizing with regards to product life cycle management.

  • Coordinates the planning of new item introductions, as well as the phase out of items to be discontinued, to optimize service and minimize inventory risk.

  • Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed.

  • Participation in key continuous improvement projects such as Lean, Kanban, and Six Sigma efforts.

  • Monitors existing and new manufacturing processes and systems for improvement opportunities in quality, delivery, and data materials.

  • Responsible for data integrity auditing. Closely monitors all changes and is responsible for accuracy of Bill of Material (BOM) data and Item Master data.

  • Routes data integrity auditing. Closely monitors all changes including: operations, resources, shift calendars, and resource time variances.

  • Facilitates and/or assists on aspects of material control including: Cycle Count Programs, Metal Balancing, WIP Supply Type (Push/Pull) and Sub Inventory Netting.

  • Tracks, measures, and reports progress on improvements using standard key performance indicators, assists in the preparation of planning, financial reports to assist the team with the key performance indicators.

  • Assists in improving information systems that are appropriate for users' needs and consistent with the overall design of the organization's information systems architecture.

  • Under general supervision, collects and analyzes information from systems to formulate the scope and objectives of the system and its users.

  • Works in close liaison with IT, submitting requirements for system and/or programming specifications.

  • Assists in maintaining foundational data and metrics that tie into the S&OP process.

  • Uses product Line knowledge and manufacturing process knowledge to research and make recommendations on available capacity or identify potential bottlenecks.


WHAT IS REQUIRED:



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • 3 years of analytical, modeling, production or scheduling/planning experience or similar work.

  • Experience with a Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) system.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, organizational, technical training, and communication skills.

  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office skilled in Excel to include data sorting, macros, v-lookups, pivot tables, spreadsheet linking, advanced formulas (if then statements, etc.).


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • ASCM certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified in Integrated Resource Management (CIRM) or like certification.

  • Production scheduling/planning of multiple work centers and/or plants, and/or Demand Center experience.

  • Experience building and developing reports using MS Power Bi, Incorta or other similar reporting tools.
