Job Description - Production Scheduler

Eaton\u2019s Aerospace Division is currently seeking a Production Scheduler to join our team. This position is based at our Jackson, MI facility.\n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year. \n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nAs a Production Scheduler, you will exhibit expertise in planning practices for production and lead others to ensure customer orders are completed on time at the lowest possible cost. Manage and identify areas for improvement in the following areas: planning/shop floor scheduling, ERP SMART rules, shortage resolution, expedites, customer requests, manufacturing efficiency, and capacity management. \n\n \nEssential Functions: \n\u2022 Analyzes material requirements; plans and initiates schedules to support customer production \u0026 new program development schedules and plans; manages shop floor scheduling; levels load orders based on capacity in the cell. \n\u2022 Manages work orders to ensure manufacturing has required work at all times, communicates on overtime requirements. \n\u2022 Expedites orders for customers where possible; expedites shortages with buyers; communicates updates to customer service. \n\u2022 Ensures work orders for their areas of responsibility are current, not past due, not in pick status for long periods of time. \n\u2022 Support potential miss to ensure on time completion of critical orders, be proactive. \n\u2022 For area of responsibility: manages item parameters and settings in MRP system, minimizes past due sales dollars, resolves quality issues, resolves supplier shortages, customer on-time delivery. \n\u2022 Supports High Performance Work Teams (support two HPWT) \u0026 flexible/capable of working in different environments. \n\u2022 Supports plant continuous improvement. \n\u2022 Prepare reports and other correspondence for use by Eaton SCM professionals. \n\u2022 Coordinate material requirements with production schedules, customer requirements and provide feedback to scheduling and management. \n\u2022 Ensure compliance with applicable contract flow down (FAR, DFAR, ITAR, etc.)\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic Qualifications: \n\n * HS Diploma or equivalent Required\n * Minimum of (1) one year experience in a Supply Chain role.\n * Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.\n * This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. \u00a7 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. \u00a7 1158.\n * No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Jackson, MI will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.\n\n\n\n * Preferred Qualifications: \n * Proficient in the development and tracking of internal metrics. \n * General knowledge of ERP and procurement processes. \n * Exposure to institutional problem-solving tools/processes such as cycle time reduction and process improvement tools: Six Sigma,\n * DMAIC methodology, Kaizen, DOE, Pareto Charts, Process mapping, Tree diagrams, Root cause analysis, Analytical software programs. \n * Hose, tube, fitting, and coupling design experience is a plus. \n * Strong project and time management, organizational, and analytical skills. \n * Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from production associates to the leadership team.\n * Skillful in using forecasting, demand planning, scheduling and inventory management tools and concepts to analyze and recommend optimal placement and velocity of materials required in the manufacturing and distribution process. \n * Well-qualified to understand the interdependencies of supply chain strategies.\n\n\n\n## Additional Information: \n\n\u2022 This position requires the incumbent to apply analytical and problem-solving skills, which includes a strong knowledge of supply chain and purchasing problem solving tools. Incumbent should possess statistical tools application skills. \n\u2022 This position drives value by defining problems and eliminating root causes and creates supply chain solutions for process improvements. \n\u2022 This position exhibits expert communications for internal and external customer interactions.\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
