Production Shop Technician

Stephenson Equipment, Inc (SEI), an industry leader in Pennsylvania, Maryland, DC and New York providing sales, rentals, parts and service for construction equipment, cranes, paving, road building and road maintenance equipment, has an immediate need for Production Shop Technician at our Public Works and Infrastructure location in Harrisburg, PA.

Duties include, but are not limited to: 

• Install truck bodies 
• Install snow and ice equipment such as plows and spreaders.
• Installs mobile, electrical, and hydraulic components. 
• Mount hitches, shelves, drawers.
• Install ladder racks, mud flaps.
• Welding of brackets and mounting hardware.
• Operate forklift on an as needed basis
• Fabrication on steel, stainless steel, aluminum.

The best fit to our team will have:

• Certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Most work is performed in a garage environment with moderate to loud noise levels. Temperatures vary from season to season. Job requires extended periods of standing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching depending on the machine that needs maintenance within the 8-10 hour work day.  
• Technicians need the ability to lift at least 50lbs with an occasional lift of up to 100lbs with assistance of a crane.
