Production Superintendent

Spartanburg Steel Products is a major supplier of metal stampings and welded sub-assemblies for automotive,  lawn & garden, agricultural, and construction equipment OEMs throughout the United States:

Primary Objectives

• To oversee and coordinate the Stamping and Assembly departments across two shifts, ensuring production schedules are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Focusing on continuous improvement, team development, and operational excellence to meet customer expectations and company goals.

Specific Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned and changed as needed)

• Supervise and lead all daily operations of the Stamping and Assembly departments across two shifts to meet production targets and customer expectations.
• Maintain a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor production metrics, analyze performance, and implement corrective actions to drive operational excellence.
• Manage and develop team leads and production associates to foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to resolve production issues and minimize downtime.
• Coordinate workforce allocation to optimize staffing levels and meet production schedules.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and drive initiatives to improve product quality and reduce scrap.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback to team members.
• Champion Lean Manufacturing principles and participate in continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of experience in a production supervisory or superintendent role within the automotive industry.
• In-depth knowledge of stamping and assembly processes and equipment.BS IE ME engineering or equivalent education and experience
• Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Flexibility to work two shifts and respond to production needs as required.
