Production Superintendent

The purpose of the production superintendent is to plan, implement, coordinate and direct operating and maintenance activities of the south area (vinyls).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plans, implements, coordinates and directs operating activities of unit to optimize product quality and volume
• Plans, implements, coordinates and directs maintenance activities concerning Unit operations
• Issues written instructions to ensure continuity of operations and maintenance of the Unit
• Investigates mechanical and process failures or shortcomings to determine cause and procedure to prevent recurrence
• Directs the performance of the shift supervisors
• Reviews and revises standard operating procedures as necessary
• Generates all shift, vacation, training and personnel schedules for Unit operations
• Ensures safety of the unit and personnel
• Monitors employee vacations and ensures compliance with Company rules and regulations
• Supports training activities to achieve promotion and developmental opportunities for employees
• Recommends yearly capital budget requests and assists in planning yearly operating budget
• Set goals and objectives for improvement of product quality and volume
• Maintains effective working relations with Maintenance and Quality Control
• On 24-hour call for entire Plant every fourth weekend

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Ten years progressive operating experience, to include knowledge and skills related to the petrochemical and plastic industries, with a minimum of five years' experience as a supervisor/manager.
