 Job Summary:
The Shop Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing daily operations across multiple production areas, including paint, assembly, welding, electrical, and sheet metal fabrication. This role ensures that production goals are met safely, efficiently, and to quality standards while fostering teamwork and professional growth among employees. The Shop Supervisor works closely with other department leaders to coordinate workflow, resolve issues, and maintain a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • You understand the ins and outs of paint, assembly, welding, electrical, and sheet metal fabrication, and you know how to bring out the best in skilled tradespeople.

  • You stay calm under pressure, solve problems quickly, and keep production moving smoothly.
  • You are safety-minded and believe in leading by example.
  • You communicate clearly and build trust with your team, peers, and leadership.

 Key Responsibilities:
  •  Supervise and coordinate the activities of employees in paint, assembly, welding, electrical, and sheet metal fabrication.
  • Plan, prioritize, and assign work to meet production schedules, deadlines, and quality standards.
  • Monitor employee performance, provide coaching and feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production planning teams to resolve technical or process issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of production, labor hours, and materials used.
  • Support employee training and development to build cross-functional skills within the shop.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Manage shop resources, tools, and equipment to ensure availability and proper maintenance.
  • Enforce workplace safety practices and lead safety meetings and audits.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Strong knowledge of paint, assembly, welding, electrical, and sheet metal fabrication processes.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and hold employees accountable.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Proficiency with production software, scheduling, and reporting tools preferred.
