SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for driving current and future manufacturing performance in the areas of Safety, Productivity, Cost, Quality, Delivery and Morale. This includes managing the shift crew and manufacturing activities as well as working individually and on teams to identify areas of opportunity to cause beneficial change.  

The Production supervisor will be expected to maintain an appropriate level of communication with other departments (Quality, Warehouse, Maintenance, etc...) and ensure production priorities and shortfalls are addressed in a timely fashion

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 
  Managing manufacturing activities during the designated shift by Leading and motivating shift employees in all areas including safety, efficiency, loss management, quality, and continuous improvement  
  


• 
  Driving the Newly Weds culture by protecting employee’s health and safety, ensuring compliance of all regulatory and plant policies and safety rules, meeting legislative requirements, providing instruction regarding safety procedures and supporting plant safety and quality initiatives as required (IFS, FSMA, GMP, Hygiene, OSHA, etc.)  
  


• 
   Accountable for the productivity of the site during off-shifts. This requires contacting appropriate resources for issue resolution, providing alternative duties in the event of breakdown or material shortage, monitoring overall performance and behavior of employees, and adjusting crewing or call in replacements as necessary. This requires interfacing with Maintenance, Purchasing/Planning, Quality Support, Warehouse and other department supervisors to ensure efficient operation to meet plant goals.

  Facilitating required training programs for employees. (Quality, Safety, etc.)  
  


• 
  Utilizing KABA Timekeeping System to maintain weekly record of hours worked, along with explanation of overtime hours worked and ensures hours worked, vacation, absences, etc. are correctly documented so employees are paid accurately.  
  


• 
   Regularly cascading/communicating plant targets and goals from the plant leadership to shift crews, consistently and accurately.  
  


• 
   Fostering positive employee relations, including properly interpreting and managing the company policies, if applicable.  
  


• 
  Promoting and maintaining a safety-oriented culture.  
  


• 
  Other duties may be assigned. 
  

Professional Qualifications and Experience Required:

• 
  Bachelor’s degree required  
  

• 
  Excellent communication skills 
  

• 
  Proven ability to lead a team. 
  

• 
  Computer skills (Microsoft office, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and ERP system). 
  

• 
  Minimum of 2 years of Manufacturing Environment experience as a supervisor preferably in a food environment.  
  

• 
  Applicant must be a committed team worker with a keen sense of responsibility and excellent attention to detail.   
  

• 
  Experience in supervising, coaching, and developing staff.
