Job Description

As the Material Handling Team Manager, reporting directly to the Finishing & Material Handling Value Stream Manager, you are a vital leader in our operational heart. You will lead a customer-focused team of non-exempt employees across Shipping, Receiving, WIP, and SAI, ensuring the seamless movement and transactional accuracy of all chemical components and finished products. Your mission is to foster a collaborative culture that prioritizes process excellence and safety above all else.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Leadership: Provide daily leadership to instill an injury-free workplace, conducting safety huddles and ensuring compliance with all hazardous material handling protocols.

  • Operational Excellence: Use Enterprise Lean Strategies (ELS) to review processes, reduce waste, and improve inventory accuracy through rigorous cycle counts and trailer/pallet management.
  • People Development: Attract and develop high-potential talent by managing the Global Performance System (GPS), providing quarterly feedback, and creating cross-training opportunities to meet business needs.

  • Strategic Execution: Drive site improvement plans by setting clear priorities, removing obstacles for your team, and collaborating with Logistics to optimize scheduling and resource allocation.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalency is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of operational experience is required, with at least 1 year of direct team management experience. 5+ years of leadership in a manufacturing or supply chain environment is preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in managing complex material handling systems; the capability to become an Oracle superuser is essential. Six Sigma or APICS certifications are a significant plus.

  • Leadership Competencies: Demonstrated ability to "Build High-Performing, Diverse Teams," "Lead Change," and "Deliver Results" through agility and collaboration.

  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to influence team behavior, resolve conflicts, and build cross-functional partnerships.
