OVERALL POSITION FUNCTION
Perform all tasks related to production of custom wire screens and screen products in a safe, efficient, and quality oriented manner.  Work is done in a fast paced, team based environment, and includes hand assembly operations and operating machinery to meet exacting quality standards.  All work is done in accordance to documented procedures, work standards, industry practices, and the Company employee handbook.
 
SPECIFIC DUTIES/FUNCTIONAL TASKS
•        Use of tape measure, and ability to measure accurately.
•        Perform product specific math, involving adding and subtracting of fractions.
•        Setup and operation of metal shears, punch presses, and press brakes, using Lock out/Tag out procedures, and prescribed forming tooling.
•        Setup and operation of wire straightening and crimping equipment, using Lock out/Tag out procedures, and prescribed forming tooling.
•        Operation of custom manufacturing equipment to perform product line tasks.
•        Documentation of quality inspection and labor records in accordance with procedures
•        Ability to read and comprehend job traveler, with all specific and pertinent details for each production order
•        Recognition and selection of raw materials specific to product lines to meet customer requirements (wire type, diameter, metal gauge)
•        Commitment to meet daily production goals, including reporting of results
•        Maintenance of work area in a clean and orderly manner, relying heavily on 5S practices
•        Active involvement in safety inspections, walk-throughs, and improvement projects
•        May involve fork truck operation, with approval and licensing through internal programs
•        Other duties as assigned to support production and facility goals
 
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY
·         Ability to read a tape measure, and do math with fractions (1/16ths)
·         Ability to work both individually and as a part of a team
·         Must be detail oriented, quality conscious, and willing to make decisions to support the organizations positive quality reputation
·         Ability to learn and retain new tasks and operations
·         Ability to step between various duties in the job description seamlessly
 
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
·         Must have reliable transportation
·         Must comply with all company policies, including drug screening policy
·         Must supply and maintain their own safety shoes.  Company provides an annual boot allowance.
·         Must meet position overtime requirements as schedule demands
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work load is planned on an 8-9 hour work day, 5 days per week, in a non-stationary shop environment.  Additional work hours may be required each day to meet team production goals.  Duties involve standing and walking, and lifting product between 30 and 80 pounds.  Product is generally lifted between floor and waist height, and majority of lifting as done as part of a two person team.  Tables, lift carts, fork trucks, and cranes are available as needed.
