Eaton\u2019s IS VEH VGNA is currently seeking a Production Worker. This position is based at our South Bend, IN location. \n\nThe hourly rate for this position is $22.42.\n\nThe core hours are 6:00am-2:20pm.\n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\nFor this Position, we will be taking the first 50 candidates and then unposting the req to provide the best experience for each person. We will reopen as needed until the req is full.\n\nEaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton\u0027s plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nThe Production Worker will work in a self-directed, team oriented, advanced forging operation to produce quality product safely and efficiently.\n\nIn this function you will:\n\n * Perform equipment and tooling set-ups as specified by the Process Sheet Work Instructions.\n * Perform quality inspection including gauge usage, SPC tracking and blueprint reading.\n * Perform preventative maintenance and inspection checks on equipment and forklifts.\n * Operate and make necessary adjustments to the forge press, trim press, automatic loader, automatic graphite spray system, heat induction system and all related controls.\n * Operate spray lubricant as required\n * Communicate with all other team members to assure quality product production and customer satisfaction.\n * Participate in teams and/or taskforces that are directly related to plant operations and continuous improvement. \n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications:\n\n * High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution \n * Previous manufacturing experience \n * Previous experience reading and interpreting documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals required.\n * Basic math experience (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).\n * Basic units of measure experience (micrometers and calipers).\n\n\n\nEaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Active Duty Military member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. \n \n \nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Machine Operator experience\n\n\n\n## Additional Criteria:\n\n * Ability to frequently move and/or lift forgings and dies during the forging and trimming press operations weighing up to 30 lbs.\n * Ability to stand or walk the entire shift.\n * Ability to hear and talk to other teammates while working.\n * Ability to visually detect quality defects during production.\n * Ability to tolerate extreme temperature changes, wetness and/or humidity during production operations.\n * Ability to tolerate noise at a time weighted average of 97 decibels and occasional vibration due to use of tools and equipment.\n * Ability to tolerate fumes from forge press, forklifts, Tennant Sweeper, welding and cutting operations.\n * Ability to tolerate occasional graphite/water mist from forging operations\n * Available to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.\n * Willing to adhere to all safety rules and regulations, including all PPE requirements.\n\n\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
