Job Description - Professional Development Specialist II

Summary: Delivers professional development programs independently, including technology and professional skills training. Supports the design, delivery, and evaluation of learning initiatives that advance attorney and staff development and align with firm objectives.


 


Responsibilities: 


• Deliver staff training programs focused on technology platforms and professional skills.


• Conduct needs assessments and contribute to the design and enhancement of learning programs.


• Develop instructional materials, job aids, and eLearning content.


• Evaluate program effectiveness using surveys and performance metrics and recommend improvements.


• Support attorney and management development initiatives.


• Administer training content and learning paths within the learning management system (LMS).


• Align work with firm strategic initiatives and perform additional duties as needed.


 


Requirements: 


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the firm.


• Proven project management and organizational abilities.


• Expertise in designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs.


• Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design best practices.


              


Qualifying Experience: 


• Minimum of 4 years of professional development or learning and development (L&D) experience, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.


• Strong facilitation, instructional design, and program evaluation skills.


• Proficiency in learning management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and legal software applications.


 


Physical Requirements and Work Environment


 


• Physical Requirements: Involves prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, as well as standing, walking, and using hands for typing, handling documents, and office equipment. Tasks require strong visual abilities and effective oral communication skills. Occasional travel to other Firm offices with additional travel required during peak training or rollout periods.


 


• Work Environment: Typical office environment, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
