OPEN POSITION: Professional Engineer - Water Focus

Office Location:  Palisade, CO

Position Overview:

The purpose of J-U-B ENGINEERS, Inc. We are seeking an experienced Professional Engineer to work in our Palisade office in western Colorado. This office specializes in water resource infrastructure planning and design. A successful candidate for this position should expect to assist Project Managers, Project Engineers and our Clients with technical design and modeling, creating construction plans, specifications and contract documents and construction management, among other duties.

Anticipated projects include large diameter pipeline design, river diversion structures, reservoir rehabilitation, water conservation projects, on-farm irrigation, water rights and anything else our team finds interesting. A successful candidate should also expect to use their engineering expertise to support our other offices and markets which often includes wastewater, transportation or other disciplines. While applying technical civil engineering knowledge and skills, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

• Plan, design and implement critical community infrastructure projects including water distribution and treatment, wastewater collection, treatment and reclamation, irrigation, and storm water infrastructure.
• Play key roles in all phases of project planning, design, and construction management.
• Analyze engineering data, interpret plans and specifications, and make sound decisions.
• Partner with senior engineers and project managers for reporting, design, and construction phase services to enhance public water, sewer, irrigation, and storm water projects.
• Collaborate with government agencies for permits, crossing agreements, easements, encroachments, and other necessary requirements.
• Facilitate public meetings, public forums, and open houses to discuss project details and answer questions from the public.
• Organize and conduct meetings with consulting partners, contractors, clients, and agencies.
• Utilize design tools such as AutoCAD Civil3D, Microsoft Excel, WaterCAD, and InfoSWMM.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure
• Four years of engineering experience 
• Grant funding applications/Grant administration experience is a plus but not required
• NEPA documentation experience is a plus, but not required
• AutoCAD Civil3D experience.
• Hydraulic modeling experience.
• MS Office proficient.

Salary Range: $90,000 -$125,000 Determined by experience.
