Job Description - Professional Housekeeper - 5 YEARS RESIDENCY

Draw the attention of the Head Housekeeper to any matter affecting the smooth running and security of the household.

Serve at table and at functions and receptions as required.

Cleaning of the property, including public rooms, corridors, bedrooms, bathrooms, WCs, offices and other accommodation.

Laundry and ironing.

Report all damage, breakages, losses and unserviceable items to the Head Housekeeper.

Undertake such other tasks and duties as may from time to time be allocated by the employer or Head Housekeeper.

Requirements

Extensive knowledge of cleaning and maintaining a large private house to a high standard.

Knowledge of the correct cleaning methods and products for a variety of surfaces, including antiques, marble, wood, glass, silver and delicate furnishings.

Experience caring for fine furnishings, artwork, antiques and valuable household items.

Good knowledge of laundry and ironing, including the care of delicate and specialist fabrics.

Understanding of formal table service and preparation for private dinners, functions and entertaining.

Knowledge of preparing guest bedrooms and bathrooms to a high standard, ensuring they are fully stocked and presented impeccably.

Experience maintaining high standards of presentation throughout the property, including public rooms, private areas and guest accommodation.

Ability to identify and report damage, breakages, maintenance issues, losses or items requiring repair or replacement.

Good understanding of household security, confidentiality and the importance of discretion when working in a private residence.

Knowledge of safe storage and handling of cleaning products and household equipment.

Ability to work as part of a household team and follow instructions from the Head Housekeeper or Estate Manager.

Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage housekeeping duties efficiently.

Flexible and willing to assist with functions, entertaining, special occasions and other household requirements.

High attention to detail and pride in maintaining the property to an exceptional standard.
