Job Description - Program and Camp Specialist

About Us:

For over 100 years, Girl Scouting has helped girls develop the skills and confidence they need to blossom into their best selves. From our earliest badges in electricity, aeronautics, and natural sciences to today’s all-girl robotics teams and cookie entrepreneurs, girls have challenged themselves through our skill-building opportunities, worked with inspiring role models and developed lifelong friendships.

At Girl Scouts of Alaska, we are dedicated to building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. Our mission is to empower girls through leadership experiences, skill-building opportunities, and community involvement. As part of our dynamic and passionate team, you will join a group of individuals who are committed to ensuring that girls across Alaska have the opportunities and support they need to thrive.

Program and Camp Specialists (PCS) are responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating year-round programming for girls based on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) including summer camp, council-led programs, Girl Scout pillar programs, partner programs, highest awards, and volunteer-led events.  The position provides outstanding, engaging, girl-led experiences by developing community partnerships and delivering programming to girls across the council, both through in-person and virtual offerings.

At Girl Scouts of Alaska we offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package designed to support your health, well-being, and financial security. Our benefits include:

  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO): Recharge and relax with ample PTO to ensure a healthy work-life balance.

  • Holidays: Enjoy 11 paid holidays throughout the year, and paid holiday year-end office closure

  • Work from Home: Work from home one day per week

  • Health Coverage: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance to keep you and your family healthy.

  • Financial Security: Long-term disability (LTD) and life insurance to protect your future.

  • Retirement Savings: A 403(b) retirement plan with employer match to help you plan for your retirement.

  • Family friendly environment

If you are committed to making a difference, seek work with lasting impact and want to help build girls of courage, confidence and character who make Alaska and the world a better place, join our team as a Program and Camp Specialist. This position is based out of our Anchorage, Alaska Office and the pay starts at $26 per hour.
