Position Overview

Provides experienced administrative and scheduling support to the assigned program. Functions under the philosophy, policies and procedures of the program and Hospital.


Experience


  • Experience with ESP scheduling or other computerized staffing system.

  • Experience in a similar or directly related position, preferably in a Department/Division of Nursing is essential.

  • General knowledge of the administrative practice and procedures.


Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)


  • Grade 12.

  • Completion of recognized secretarial or business office training program and/or community college program.

  • Completion of a medical terminology course.

Qualifications and Skills


  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent organizational skills, flexibility and independence in completing work assignments and complex accounting tasks.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Familiarity with Collective Agreements.

  • Proficiency in taking, transcribing and editing of minutes, which may require attendance at evening meetings.

  • Knowledge in SAP is preferred.

  • Payroll experience preferred. 

  • Minimum typing speed 65 wpm.

  • Works independently with limited direction.

  • Prioritizes and schedules tasks under stressful condition to meet deadlines.

  • Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing with all staff, outside agencies and general public.

  • Work in harmony with others.


Physical Requirements


  • General office conditions.

  • Mental and physical health to meet the demands of the position.


 


 



 


This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.


 


Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT. The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Golden Door Geriatric Centre, Golden West Centennial Lodge, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.
