Program Director / Licensed Clinical Social Worker

SEEKING: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Director / Licensed Clinical Social Worker to lead a community-based program that supports pregnant and parenting youth. 

This position is located in Pittsfield, but will include some travel to surrounding communities and our North Adams office.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: 

The Young Parent Program at Child Care of the Berkshires partners with pregnant and parenting youth ages 14-25 to increase life opportunities and enhance family stability. The program utilizes a strengths-based, two-generation case management model that focuses on participants’ individual needs. Staff support parents in reaching their educational and career goals, increasing housing stability, access to health care and child care, and building positive parenting skills.

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Program Director / Licensed Clinical Social Worker is a dual-role position which combines program leadership with clinical expertise, ensuring effective delivery of services, staff supervision, and participant well-being. The Program Director will oversee a small team of Community Health Workers (CHWs), manage program operations, maintain key stakeholder relationships, and provide direct behavioral health support to participants through screenings, counseling (individual, couples, and group) and wellness programs.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution required.
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW or LICSW) in good standing.
• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in program management, supervision, or leadership in a community-based setting preferred.
• Clinical experience working with adolescents, young parents, or high-risk populations.
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based practices.
• Proven ability to manage a multidisciplinary team and coordinate services across systems preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written communication skills.
• Experience with grant compliance, reporting, and budgeting preferred.
• Bilingual or multilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
• Proficient on use of computer, software programs and databases, general familiarity with office equipment.
• Must be willing to complete an EEC background check (MA criminal offender record check (CORI), SORI, DCF background check, National Sex Offender Registry (NSOR)) fingerprinting, and a motor vehicle check.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This role includes a combination of office-based responsibilities, community engagement, and occasional evening or weekend work to support program events or participant needs. 

Employees work under typical office conditions, at a desk where the noise level is usually quiet. 

This position also requires the following:

1. Ability to communicate clearly and vocally in order to express and exchange information by spoken word. In addition, willingness to use translation and other tools to communicate effectively with the children and families we support.
2. Must be able to provide documentation of good physical health and mental health, freedom from communicable diseases, evidence of up-to-date immunizations. 

WORK SCHEDULE AND YEAR: This is a thirty-hour per week, year-round exempt position.
