Job Title:

Dore Urgent Care Clinic Program Director

Employment Type : Full-Time-TBD

Summary : The Dore Urgent Care Clinic is designed to offer clinical intervention for an individual who is experiencing an escalating psychiatric crisis and who requires rapid engagement, assessment, and intervention to prevent further deterioration into an acute crisis or grave disability. Based on the principles of social rehabilitation, it is a voluntary alternative to Psychiatric Emergency Services at San Francisco General Hospital. DUCC is unique in the San Francisco Behavioral Health community. The client centered program continues to evolve in a positive way and strives to provide the community, particularly the economically disadvantaged and vulnerable residents of San Francisco, with crisis intervention that is effective, culturally competent, and compassionate.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees the day to day functioning of the clinic, ensuring all services are consistent with the Progress Foundation philosophy of Social Rehabilitation.
Leads the clinic staff as a cohesive and connected unit to effectively respond to the needs of a diverse client population experiencing mental health distress with the goal of preventing hospitalization.
Develop protocols and practices that ensure clinic is meeting the needs of the mental health system of San Francisco by providing alternatives to hospitalization in a safe and supportive way.
Review, evaluate, recommend, and implement changes in clinic care systems, including the physical space to improve client care and safety.
Establishes and maintains procedures for continuous quality improvement; develop and recommend corrective action plans for resolving service and system issues.
Ensures regulatory components of the clinic are integrated and operated in a manner that is consistent with prevailing standards of psychiatric and medical care with applicable federal, state, city, and county laws and regulations.
Manages personnel operations, supervision, coaching, developing nursing, clinical, and support staff.
Develops and manages effective relationships with clients, the community, partnered agencies, and Progress Foundation programs with the goal of collaboration and problem solving in supporting clients through their crisis.
Maintain competency and knowledge of subject matter areas including regulatory requirements, quality assurance and Medi-Cal criteria.
Review documentation to determine compliance with funding sources and their criteria requirements are being met, agency policy and procedure, as well as county, state and federal guidelines.
Gather and review incident reports to ensure proper submission to responsible parties. Assist with plans of action regarding critical incidents occurring in programs and ways to improve critical incident prevention.
Perform routine audits of client records in the electronic health record (EHR) to ensure quality and accuracy of data and documentation; communicate with program managers when corrective action needs to be taken.
Provide training to clinic staff regarding policies, procedures, and improving overall client care.
Review and manage budget as it relates to program supplies, household items, food, and salaries.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent organizational and administrative skills
Detail oriented while understanding how larger systems function
Knowledge and passion of theory, practice and procedures related to alternatives to hospitalization and social rehabilitation programs for those experiencing a mental health crisis.
Strength in crisis de-escalation, conflict resolution, teamwork and collaboration
Self-motivated and able to work independently and with a team, reason logically and accurately, and use sound judgment in the performance of duties.
Effectively communicate both orally and in writing and establish cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Evaluate program activities and participate in analysis, problem resolution or other corrective action.
Ability to use sound judgement in decision making as it relates to the Progress Foundation code of ethics.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
Valid and current California license as a Psychologist, Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, LCSW, or LMFT
Minimum 2 year experience in a mental health setting
Minimum 2 years' experience in staff management and supervision
Maintain criminal record clearance with Community Care Licensing
