We are seeking an enthusiastic professional Program Director/Instructor of Practical Nursing who is passionate about cultivating the school’s mission and objectives through student instruction, guidance and review in order to ensure successful development of each student.
Because of our commitment to community, employment preference is given to residents who live in WV and the New River Community Technical College service area of Braxton, Fayette, Greenbrier, Mercer, Nicholas, Pocahontas, Raleigh, and Summers, West Virginia counties.
The individual in this position will have the flexibility to choose anyone of our campus locations (Raleigh County Campus, Greenbrier County Campus, Nicholas County Campus or Mercer County Campus) as their primary work location. This position reports directly to the Dean of Allied Health, Nursing and Natural Science. The position will work collaboratively with management, faculty and staff within the department and college to serve the best interests of the students.
This role is a full-time, exempt, position and serves at the will and pleasure of the College President.

Job Summary
The Director of the Practical Nursing serves as the academic leader and manages the administrative functions of the PN Program.
Nature of Work
This position is not expected to carry a teaching load equal to other faculty allowing adequate time to carry out activities related to the coordination of the practical nursing program. Some teaching is required.
Distinguishing Characteristics
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Position requires the ability to travel.
Professional Development
· Compliance training is to be completed routinely and timely and as directed by the Director of Practical Nursing.
· Participate in additional professional development opportunities through professional organization affiliations.
· Maintains 15 hours of continuing education each year pursuant to the legislative rules of the West Virginia State Board of Examiners for Licensed Practical Nurses.
· Maintain membership in professional nursing organizations.

Skills/Abilities
Have 3 years of experience as a registered professional nurse which should include: 2 years of patient side nursing care experience in an acute, intermediate or long-term care clinical facility; and 1-year experience in one or more of the following areas: teaching supervision or administration: and, present evidence of continuing education.
Education level
Associate Degree in Nursing, Preferred
Bachelors Degree in Nursing, Required
Master's Degree in Nursing, Preferred
Experience
In addition to the knowledge/education, the following related work experience is typically required for this position. An equivalent combination of education and recent, related experience may be acceptable. Accreditation standards must be met.
Experience as a registered professional nurse within 3 years immediately preceding employment is required.
3 Years of experience as a registered professional nurse which should include: 2 years of patience side nursing experience in an acute, intermediate or long-term care clinical facility; and 1-year experience in one or more of the following areas: teaching supervision or administration; and, present evidence of continuing education.
License or Certification
Valid Drivers License is Required
Unencumbered West Virginia Registered Nurse License is Required
