We are seeking a dynamic Program Manager for our Special Programs Business Area located in East Hartford, CT.\n\nThis position is 100% on-site.\n\nOverview\n\nReporting to the Special Programs Execution Manager, the Program Manager will lead AOX\u2019s partnership with customers in commercial ventures, the U.S. Government, and U.S. defense prime and second-tier contractors. Our ideal candidate will possess exceptional technical expertise and collaborative people skills with the proven ability experience to work within a technically dynamic, high-growth, fast-paced and strategically important business unit for NG Space Systems.\n\nRole and Responsibilities:\n\n * Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion\n\n * Responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs\n\n * Coordinates the preparation of proposals, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract\n\n * Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance\n\n * Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test\n\n * Establishes milestones, identifies program problems, and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules\n\n * Works with other PMs to coordinate staffing across programs based on program priorities set by the Business Area Manager \n\n * Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing, and administrative areas \n\n * Controls expenditures within limitation of project budget\n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s Degree in a STEM discipline and five years of experience in project/task management of technical activities\n\n * Two years\u2019 experience in project/task management\n\n * Experience with Defense/Government contracts\n\n * Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills\n\n * Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues and predict potential programmatic and technical risks\n\n * Impeccable ethics in business conduct; ability to lead by example and foster ethical behavior at all times\n\n * Operate independently with limited supervision and feedback, and the ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers in the business area\n\n * Able to assimilate information from multiple sources, create coherent plans and then execute those plans\n\n * Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks\n\n * Ability to travel up to 10%\n\n * Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance with SCI access\n\n * U.S. Citizenship is required\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Master\u2019s degree and/or PhD in a STEM discipline\n\n * Five years of experience in project/task management with a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in a STEM discipline\n\n * Experience with Agile Project Management and/or Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)\n\n * Experience in optical systems integration\n\n * PMP certification\n\n * Active Top Secret security clearance\n\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $133,000.00 - $199,600.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
