Semper Valeo, LLC is a community work program for adults with developmental
disabilities. Our primary focus is helping these individuals develop job skills and
providing a variety of opportunities for them to do so. Our duties as supervisors, coaches and teachers is
to guide and direct these individuals so that they may be successful and safe out in the
community.
Shifts Needed: Monday - Friday: 8am - 4pm. Overtime possible

Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age.
- Legal to work in California.
- Able to lift at least 30 lbs.
- Valid Drivers license.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to follow all safety requirements in the workplace.
- Attention to detail / Being thorough with repairs.
- Willing to pursue skill growth and expand abilities.
- Willing to participate in a work culture with high standards and expectations.
- Some background in managing general operations and people.
- Sound judgment and knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall and other general maintenance areas.
- Problem solving skills and willingness to be challenged.
- Knowledge of common home repair techniques.
- Knowledge of safety measures with all types of equipment and power tools.
- Ability to organize and prioritize certain repairs.
- Must be flexible and adaptable to a variety of maintenance issues.
- Capable of utilizing technology. (Cell phones, laptop, etc……)
- Maintain positivity through challenging situations.
- Experience working with or supporting individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities is preferred. Relevant personal experience will also be considered.
Description of Job duties:
The program manager / Home maintenance assistant’s duties are, but not limited to.
- Showing up on time for scheduled shifts.
- Attempt to preserve and maintain the physical integrity, safety and functionality of residential properties.
- Gathering and loading tools and equipment needed for the day.
- Assessing what repairs need to be prioritized and what can wait.
- Ensure that clients that are with you are following directions and are made aware of safety hazards.
- Assist with home maintenance of 10+ properties and assist maintenance supervisor where needed.
- Follow all directions given by the CEO and/or maintenance supervisor.
- Utilize the tools provided to repair and maintain houses.
- Purchase parts or materials needed to complete repairs.
- Prompt clients that are on your crew to assist where needed.
- Oversee 20+ employees and ensure program directives are being followed.
- Ensure any non-client employees are supervised at all times.
- Attempt to preserve and maintain the physical integrity, safety and functionality of residential properties.
- Logging and tracking clients work time and daily notes.
- Work alongside clients on job sites doing various tasks assigned.
- Model appropriate workplace and social behaviors for Semper’s clients.
- Encourage a positive work environment.
General Repairs:
Plumbing leaks, plumbing obstructions, replacing faulty electrical equipment, repairing drywall, painting, appliance diagnosing, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors and basic carpentry.
Record keeping:
Logging and documenting completed repairs. Keeping track of parts and supplies needed for residences. Tracking clients times and logging anything of note that happened with them specifically for that day.
Other notes:
Tools and a vehicle will be provided for this position. Shifts will be Monday through Friday. 8am - 4pm. Shifts can be flexible depending on the program needs.
