About the Agency
This opportunity is a Program Specialist III position within MS Department of Child Protection Services. The Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services (MDCPS) is committed to protecting and nurturing Mississippi's at-risk children and families. MDCPS offers a variety of positions statewide, including social work positions providing case management services and working with potential foster families, supervisor positions providing clinical and administrative support, and agency support positions such as policy development, human resources, information technology, program management, training, and budgeting/finance. [email protected]This position is with the MS Child Protection Services Office of Reporting. Positions at this level work under the supervision of higher levels to ensure the agency program plans and practices align with federal regulations, agency goals, and other requirements.JOB DUTIES: Participates in research; assists with writing agency plans; assists with preparing reports for submission to external partners; assists with information and data collection; assist with data submission; assists with coordination of agency events; transcribes meeting notes; collaborates with internal agency personnel and external partners; meets all assigned deadlines; and performs other duties as assigned.Proof documents for quality and accuracy; draft and type correspondence; organize and maintain files; assist with the planning and implementation of special projects; communicate with various individuals and entities; compile data for required reports; maintain confidentiality; and perform related or similar duties as required or assigned.
What you'll need to be Successful
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software, demonstrate integrity, excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to adapt quickly, courteous, ability to maintain confidentiality. Efficient organizational and time management skills.Good Customer Service and communication skills. Must have computer skills. Must have the ability to prioritize and provide timely services to individuals being served.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelors' Degree and 2 - 4 years of experience. Agency preferred qualifications: Appointing authority may require social worker's license.
