Position Summary
Alliance for Community Transformations is seeking a compassionate, organized, and mission-driven Program Specialist/Receptionist to provide administrative, advocacy, and program support across multiple service areas. This position plays a key role in ensuring quality services for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other victims of crime while supporting volunteers, legal advocacy, crisis response, outreach, and day-to-day office operations.


What You'll Do

  • Coordinate and support the agency's volunteer program, including recruitment, training, scheduling, supervision, and recognition
  • Provide administrative and office support, including reception, data entry, client intake assistance, and document preparation
  • Assist legal advocates by supporting survivors through restraining orders, court accompaniment, referrals, and community resource navigation
  • Respond to crisis calls and provide trauma-informed advocacy, safety planning, referrals, and follow-up services
  • Maintain accurate client records, database entries, and program reports to meet grant and agency requirements
  • Assist with outreach events, presentations, prevention education, and community engagement activities
  • Support fundraising efforts, donor relations, and other special projects as assigned

  • Ability to complete the required 40-hour Domestic Violence and 40-hour Sexual Assault Counselor training upon hire
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to complete the required 40-hour Domestic Violence and 40-hour Sexual Assault Counselor trainings upon hire
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and maintain confidentiality
  • Experience in administrative support, victim advocacy, human services, or nonprofit work is preferred
  • Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel locally as needed
  • Ability to participate in occasional evenings, weekends, and rotating on-call coverage
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and perform the physical requirements of an office and client-service environment
